Another year has almost passed & as i reflect on the happenings of the past 12 months it's truly awe inspiring, i'm so immeasureably blessed.
April 3rd 2014
Here is where the excitement ball starts rolling - Jake proposed!
Not too long after saying "Yes" to Jake, I said "Yes to the Dress!"
We got ourselves together early early on a May morning and did our engagement photos!
Before we knew it it was June 14th 2014 - the big day!
It was a Beautiful ceremony on the cliffs of Daniels Park. We didn't officially get a head count but it was vastly under 40 occupants, almost no one had a chair. Yummy food at the reception & aside from getting fried it was a completely perfect!
Directly after the wedding festivities we finished last minute packing and started off on our new life together in Iowa. Just a little over a day of driving and before we knew it we were signing the lease to our first place & my dad and brothers were helping us get settled in. Quickly we began to settle in and explored the town, back roads and experienced colossal sized bugs hitting the windshield in the middle of the night.
.
Amidst all of the new joy we were taking all in there were some incredibly heart wrenching months. JULY & AUGUST to be specific. When i miscarried i was sure the world had ended and nothing could make things right again. Jake was really busy with work. I had a nanny job at the time & lets face it newlywed life isn't always a breeze. I decided to focus more on how i was spending my time and so i chose to become a Younique Consultant thinking i would just dive into make up sales and life would return to normal. But in reality it didn't i still had hard days and missed my babies immensely
Upon the first few days of October however things started to really start happening. I went to the Doctor thinking i had bronchitis only to find out that i really had Pneumonia. The day after that i felt a little funny and so i decided to take one of the pregnancy tests i had laying around, thinking nothing really of it i set it down before i was able to clock the minutes of waiting time two very faint but evident pink lines appeared. Nothing could prepare me for the onslaught of feelings that all hit me at once. Joy, fear, nausea, relief, it all was so much more that i had ever thought possible to feel at the same time.
IT'S A BOY! - this statement boggled my mind for a good few hours before i could fully wrap my brain around it. It's not that i didn't want a boy persay it was that growing up with them & knowing all of the gross, insane & bizarre things awaiting me freaked me out ha!
